How we choose gifts, how we check them, and what we will never do.

How a gift gets in

A find has to pass two tests:

  • It surprises: most people wouldn't know it exists.
  • It's worth having: it does something useful or delightful after the novelty wears off.

How we check

Before we link a product, we confirm it against the retailer's own listing. Every product page shows the date we last checked.

Prices change, so we show them as approximate with that date, or leave them out. If we can't confirm a product is still available, we remove the buy link and say so.

What we write

Our descriptions are our own words, based on the retailer's published details. We say who a gift suits and who it doesn't.

We don't claim to have tested a product unless we have, and we never invent reviews, ratings or testimonials.

Images

We only use product images we're permitted to use, such as retailer-supplied imagery under the retailer's terms. We never pass off an illustration or AI-generated picture as a photo of the real product.

Money

Retailers can't pay to be included. If we ever join an affiliate program, theaffiliate disclosure will name it and the relevant links will be labeled.

Corrections

If something is wrong, we fix it and update the date on the page. A contact address for corrections will be listed on the contact page.
